Scott is a proud 47 year member of the Three Village Community having attended the Three Village School District and Stony Brook University. He is active in the Civic Association and The Three Village Chamber of Commerce. He currently sits on the Board of the Three Village Youth lacrosse league and is their acting treasurer and he also sits on the Board of the Stony Brook/Setauket Civic Association. He has previously sat on the Board of the Three Village Boys and Girls Club, The Three Village Little League, the Three Village Kiwanis Club, the Patriot Pride Golf Outing and was a member of the Stony Brook Rotary Club.

Scott is a life long Patriot, residing in East Setauket with his wife Karen, who is the clinical coordinator for the cardiothoracic department of surgery, / and his son Scott, who currently attends Gettysburg College.
